This work is a personal exploration of the boundary between destruction and control, examining how space itself can fracture. It stems from the idea that what is being broken is not just physical space, but the very order that defines it.
Instead of letting the explosion spread chaotically, I set up an invisible boundary to contain it, forcing it to break apart in a more structured, geometric way. Using Z-depth data, I highlighted the depth of the explosion and focused on specific points to make the impact feel more precise and controlled.
I also added a scanning effect on the ground to create the illusion that the explosion is interacting with its surroundings, while still maintaining an almost surreal level of restriction that wouldn’t happen in reality. Rather than just being a burst of raw energy, the explosion feels like it’s breaking down into data-like fragments, distorting and dissolving into space—giving it a unique visual identity.
